Simple Energy Saving Top Tips!

 

Switch to a shower and limit time spent in it

Wash clothes at lower temperature/eco setting and use full loads

Switch to LEDs

Avoid drying of clothes on radiators to reduce chances of damp/mould

Don’t use standby mode, turn off plug switches

Don’t overfill your kettle and put lids on saucepans

Switch off lights in empty rooms

Turn boiler flow temperature down to 60°C

More efficient use of heating, use your thermostat and timer
Move furniture away from radiators
Use your thermostatic radiator valves(TRV’s) to set temperatures for each room (If you have them!)
Insulate your loft and cavity walls (if you have a loft or cavity walls)
Reduce draughts through your front door with draught excluder tape etc.
Reduce draughts through your windows (eg with thick curtains, draught excluder tape, plastic film double glazing kit)
Lag your hot water pipes
Add an extra layer of clothing to keep warm
